How do I get to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye?
Fly into Belize City’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE). From there, you can catch a connecting flight to San Pedro's airstrip or take a water taxi. The water taxi operates in the morning and afternoon, and the journey takes about 90 minutes.
What is the currency used in Belize?
The local currency is the Belize Dollar (BZD), but US Dollars (USD) are widely accepted. The exchange rate is 2:1 when using cash. ATMs are available in San Pedro, but please note that torn or defaced US dollars will not be accepted.
What amenities are included in the condos?
All our condos are equipped with coffee pots, hair dryers, microwaves, cable TV, stovetops, and blenders. Some condos also have washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens. We provide complimentary hand and body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. If you need laundry soap or dishwasher detergent, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to provide it. We also provide beach towels to use during your stay.
How do I get around San Pedro?
San Pedro has limited car traffic, and car rentals are not available. The most common way to get around is by golf cart, which is perfect for exploring the island. We can assist you in renting a golf cart for your convenience. Taxis are also available on the island.

What time is check-in?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. If your room is ready earlier, early check-in may be available. If you arrive before your room is ready, the front desk can securely hold your luggage until your condo is available.
Will I receive information before arrival?
Yes. About 1–2 weeks before arrival, guests receive a pre-check-in form to help coordinate:
Transportation to the island
Resort transfers
Golf cart rentals
Grocery requests
Tours and activities
Do I need WhatsApp while traveling in Belize?
Yes. Tres Cocos highly recommends guests install WhatsApp before arriving in Belize, as it is the easiest way to communicate with the resort and local businesses during your stay.
Please note that WhatsApp activation requires receiving a text message verification code, which may not work reliably once you are already in Belize depending on your phone plan, so it’s best to set it up before traveling.
How do I get from Belize International Airport (BZE) to Ambergris Caye?
There are two main transportation options:
1. Domestic Flight (Recommended)
Airlines: Tropic Air or Maya Island Air
Flight time: Approximately 15 minutes
Estimated cost: Around $185 USD round trip per person
Flights depart hourly or more frequently
Tres Cocos recommends Tropic Air for better reliability and flexibility.
2. Water Taxi
More budget-friendly but significantly longer.
Taxi from airport to terminal: ~30 minutes
Boat ride: ~1.5 hours
Estimated cost: ~$35 USD round trip per person

What are the last water taxi departure times?
Caribbean Sprinter: 4:30 PM
San Pedro Belize Express: 5:30 PM
If you miss the last boat, you will need overnight accommodations in Belize City.

Should I rent a golf cart?
Yes. Tres Cocos recommends renting a golf cart for the duration of your stay to easily explore restaurants, beaches, and activities around Ambergris Caye.
Can the resort help arrange a golf cart rental?
Yes. Tres Cocos works closely with Road Runner Cart Rentals and can help organize your rental.

A 50% refundable deposit is required.
Should I still use the resort transfer if I rent a golf cart?
Yes. Tres Cocos strongly recommends using the resort transfer because:
It is faster and less stressful
You can relax in air conditioning
Luggage stays protected from rain and dust
Golf cart representatives can meet you comfortably at the resort
Does the resort provide drinking water?
Yes. Every unit includes a complimentary 5-gallon drinking water dispenser.
Guests are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Internet speeds on the island can vary
Streaming/video calls may occasionally be limited
Guests working remotely should notify the resort in advance if dedicated internet arrangements are needed.
What type of electrical outlets are used in Belize?
Belize uses the same electrical outlets as the United States and Canada. No converter is needed for North American travelers.
